Job Summary:
The Digital and Social Media Coordinator strengthens the LOFT brand by creating compelling content, managing online communities, and supporting digital marketing campaigns that grow engagement and connect donors across all platforms. 

What You Will Do:
  • Content
    • Work with the Communications and Marketing team to create digital content that matches all LOFT corporate marketing materials.      

    • Plan, curate, and publish daily content across all platforms. Customize content to resonate with target audiences in a compelling and emotive way to boost engagement. 

    • Ensure proper consent policies are followed to ensure privacy compliance. 

    • Collaborate with internal communications to maintain consistency in messaging and branding. 

  • Social Media
    • Plan, curate and publish daily content across all LOFT platforms using Hootsuite.  

    • Create and produce visual assets for use on all social media platforms. 

    • Propose, execute and monitor social media strategies designed to increase brand awareness, based on best practices and industry standards. 

    • Use social media analytics and competitor insights to identify content gaps among similar organizations and highlight opportunities for LOFT to differentiate and promote its services. 

    • Seek out innovative approaches to sharing content on social media channels (short-form video, interactive visuals, etc.) 

    • Bring all frontline inquiries and comments to the attention of the most appropriate department liaison. Suggest and coordinate responses to public and private messages.  

    • Interact with followers and reply to comments and messages promptly and professionally. 

    • Manage the content calendar from planning through publishing and revisions. 

    • Monitor performance, assess what is effective, and modify based on desired outcomes. 

    •  Share clear insights and results-driven recommendations with the Senior Manager, Communications and Marketing on a bi-weekly basis. 

    • Stay current on social media trends and best practices to ensure LOFT’s social media presence remains relevant and effective. 

  • Social Media Analysis
    • Use analytics to monitor email and social media performance, identifying top performing strategies each month and providing timely recommendations for optimization. 

    • Develop and maintain dashboards that track key digital indicators, including social media engagement, audience growth, and fundraising related metrics. 

    • Monitor social media performance data and recommend improvements to enhance content effectiveness and audience engagement. 

    • Analyze audience sentiment toward images, graphics, and videos across social media channels, adjusting visual elements to better align with audience response. 

    • Translate insights into actionable content and design improvements, ensuring social media materials resonate with target audiences and support organizational objectives. 

    • Prepare dashboards and reporting systems to share performance metrics and insights with the Senior Manager, Communications & Marketing. 

    • Provide data informed strategic recommendations to shape future campaigns, strengthen content planning, and drive continual improvement. 

  • Website
    • Administer website content in WordPress: update pages, fix broken links, and maintain on-page SEO hygiene (titles, meta descriptions, headings, alt text). 

    • Partner with IT and/or external vendors on site upgrades, theme/plugin maintenance, security updates, and performance improvements. 

    • Monitor and report website performance using Google Analytics and CMS dashboards, translating insights (traffic, top content, engagement, audience) into actionable design and content recommendations. 

  • Website Analysis
    • Monitor website performance metrics related to visual content and recommend design improvements. 

    • Use data and analytics to track and monitor audience sentiment towards images, graphics, and videos shared on the website to adjust specific digital elements to align with audience reaction. 

    • Translate insights into actionable design improvements, ensuring visuals resonate with target audiences and support organizational goals. 

    • Develop dashboards or reporting systems to share visual performance metrics with leadership. 

    • Provide strategic recommendations based on analytics to guide future creative campaigns and content planning. 

  • Other duties as assigned to support the organizational success of LOFT through the direction and supervision of the Development & Communications team.
What You Bring:
  • One or more years of experience as a digital and social media coordinator or evidence of similar experience.   

  • Skilled in creating business content for social media platforms 

  • Strong understanding of and experience with SEO and web traffic data.   

  • Excellent grasp of social media KPIs.   

  • Proven track record in web page design and publishing, with a preference for WordPress experience. 

  • Critical thinker and problem solver. 

  • Strong time management and organizational skills. 

  • Must perform effectively in a team environment. 

  • Excellent communication and team-building abilities. 

  • Experience with Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite, and Canva considered an asset. 

  • Adaptable in responding to feedback and changing project needs. 

  • A passion for the mission of LOFT Community Services. 

  • Strong Graphic Design, HTML and CSS skills required. 

  • Experience with digital email marketing software (Constant Contact) 

  • Excellent work ethics, organizational skills, and attention to detail. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills delivered with tact and diplomacy. 

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines. 

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 

  • Cultural competency and an understanding of working within an anti-oppression framework
Work Environment:
  • Combination of walking and sitting for a long time.
  • Ability to use office equipment and computers.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work at a desk, conference table, or in meetings of various configurations.
