To help fulfill its mission, LOFT is hiring a Manager, Stewardship and Events.
Job Summary
Reporting to the VP, Development & Communications, the Manager, Stewardship and Events at LOFT Community Services focuses on developing and implementing a stewardship and event strategy to strengthen long-term relationships with transformational, major gift, foundation, and corporate donors, as well as community members, and to build relationships with new prospects.
The Manager, Stewardship and Events, is a creative problem-solver passionate about building authentic, integrity-based, long-term, mutually beneficial relationships. Their work is rooted in respect, equality, accessibility, accountability, diversity and equity.
LOFT's Development & Communications team consists of 10 members who direct and manage fundraising, stewardship, public communications, and marketing across the organization. The team works within three collaborative groups: major, planned, and annual gifts; foundations and grants; and communications and marketing. Through this work, the team builds and nurtures relationships with donors, foundations, and businesses to generate funds that enable LOFT to deliver on its three strategic priorities to care passionately, be our best and lead the way, and to support program and capital needs. The department works closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and Development Committee to ensure growth and success.
What You Will Do
Stewardship, Cultivation and Community Events
- In collaboration with the VP, Development & Communications, develop a stewardship, cultivation and community event strategy to strengthen long-term relationships with transformational, major gift, foundation and corporate donors.
- Oversee and implement the LOFT Community Services event strategy.
- In collaboration with members of the Board of Directors, the CEO, Senior Leadership and relationship managers identify donors and prospects to engage through the events strategy.
- In coordination with the VP, Development & Communications, and relationship managers, oversee event logistics, including venue selection, catering, and entertainment.
- In collaboration with the Senior Manager, Communications and Marketing, create and implement event marketing and communication plans, including invitations, promotional materials, and social media campaigns.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Utilize CRM database to track invitations, RSVP’s, and after-event follow-up. Recruit, train, and manage event volunteers.
- Create and maintain a multi-year calendar for events.
- Track event revenue and expenses and provide regular reports.
- Evaluate event results to enhance future events and increase donor, prospect and community member participation.
- Manage all contracts associated with events.
- In collaboration with the VP, Development & Communications, develop a systemized and achievable stewardship strategy to strengthen long-term relationships with transformational, major gift, foundation and corporate donors.
- Oversee and implement an industry-best stewardship and recognition program and strategies, ensuring equity and maintaining the highest level of donor engagement and accountability.
- In collaboration with relationship managers, create customized stewardship plans for all transformational, major gift, foundation and corporate donors. Record plans in the CRM database, mapping our annual activity and touchpoints for each donor. Collaborate with relationship managers to drive activity and ensure deadlines are met.
- Develop an inventory of recognition opportunities and a calendar of activities for a variety of donor events.
- Create timely and meaningful stewardship materials, including impact reports, presentation decks, and emails.
- In collaboration with the Senior Manager, Communications and Marketing, write clear and compelling content for highly personalized stewardship.
- Ensure stewardship plans —including recognition, benefits, and impact reporting —are compiled, communicated to relationship managers and program and finance staff, and documented for implementation.
- Develop, execute, and maintain transformational major gift, foundation, donor, and sponsorship agreements.
- Create and maintain donor recognition lists, ensuring online recognition is up to date and aligned with donor expectations.
- Ensure adherence to all LOFT Community Services policies and contribute to the review and revision of policies, including those related to gift acceptance and naming.
- Contribute to the Development & Communications department's planning and goal-setting, and track and evaluate progress against key performance indicators.
- Work collaboratively with team members to develop stewardship events
What You Bring
Must Haves
- Post-secondary education in development, event planning, or equivalent professional and lived experience.
- 5+ years of experience in development, stewardship or event planning
- A certificate in fundraising, or working towards one.
- This role operates within a hybrid model
- The position involves walking and sitting for extended periods, using office equipment and computers, and occasionally lifting and moving up to 25 pounds. The ability to work at a desk, conference table, or in various meeting configuration is also required.
